ReUzit on State is TEMPORARILY CLOSED
EFFECTIVE TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 2020
At the urgent request of PA Governor Tom Wolf, the store will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice. We hope to reopen Monday, March 30, 2020 but our closure may extend beyond March 30.
When information about reopening is known, it will be communicated via email and on our store’s voicemail message. So, as we approach Monday, March 30, please be calling in to hear instructions on the voicemail
recording. The store number is (717) 733—4934.
ReUzit on State is blessed with wonderful volunteers and staff. Our priority during this crisis is for your health and safety. We ask that that all volunteers and staff stay home and not come to ReUzit during this time
While the store is closed, we will not receive donations. We will also not be able to make pick ups, or make deliveries.
We urge each of you to do what you can to help slow and contain the spread of COVID-19. These extraordinary precautions are being made here in Pennsylvania and in other states across the United States and in other countries to help protect the people most vulnerable to the disease and to give our hospitals a chance of being able to adequately care for all.
The best thing you can do at this time is stay home. Individuals without symptoms can spread this very contagious virus unknowingly.
We’re all in this together and we will get through it.

ReUzit on State is the new name given to the newly consolidated Ephrata Re-Uzit Thrift Stores.
Previously, Ephrata Re-Uzit Stores had 3 divisions at 2 locations in Ephrata.
Ephrata Re-Uzit Stores operated:
- the Re-Uzit Shop in downtown Ephrata from 1982 – 2019, where we accepted donations of and sold clothing, housewares, and other small items.
- Ephrata Re-Uzit Furniture & Books. The Furniture & Books store was located in a now-demolished building at 1054 S. State Street in Ephrata.
- Booksavers of Ephrata -- our online book selling division. Previously, Booksavers operated out of a now-demolished warehouse at 1054 S. State Street. Booksavers was housed in the rear of the Furniture & Books store during construction of our new building. Booksavers now lives within the new building – ReUzit on State. Booksavers donations are accepted at the ReUzit on State Donation Drive Thru.
As of September 2019, we’ve consolidated these three divisions into one location – our new building located at 1054 S. State Street in Ephrata! Consolidating our stores has made it easier for folks to donate, expanded available parking for customers, and made it possible to shop for a variety of items in one store! The new building was also designed with our volunteers and staff in mind – to make processing as efficient as possible.
Come see us at ReUzit on State! Stop by to donate, shop, and learn about our volunteer opportunities!
As an MCC Thrift Store, Ephrata Re-Uzit Stores support the global mission of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) which includes funding programs that provide those in need with healthcare, emergency food assistance, clean water, education, agricultural items (seeds, tools), and peacebuilding trainings.
