Volunteers are the foundation of our operation!

We welcome new applicants whether they are looking for casual volunteer work during retirement, students looking to fulfill Community Service requirements for a diploma, or anyone else wanting to experience a volunteer opportunity.

The New Hamburg Thrift Centre is looking for some friendly folks to join our team of volunteers. If you have some spare time, want to be a part of the work that helps to support Mennonite Central Committee, all while having fun, you might be just the person we need!

We have the following open volunteer positions at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre:

• Displaying Art & Pictures: Tuesday afternoon we need someone who likes art to help display priced pictures in the retail store

• Clothing sorting and pricing: Do you enjoy Fashion? Have an eye for labels and trends? We have openings Tuesday morning and afternoonand wednesday mornings.

• Wipes Coordinator: Friendly volunteer who enjoy meeting new people needed. Supporting volunteers groups Monday mornings who cut clothing into rags.

• Receivers: Wednesday morning and afternoon we are looking for volunteers to greet our valued donors at the backdoor to accept goods. Good customer service and stamina required.

STUDENTS: Please note that we can accept only a limited number of students on Friday nights, Saturdays, PD Days, and during summer vacation. Community Service hours can not be earned during regular school hours.
